Nos vamos con una de las más populares a nivel latinoamericano de nuestras agrupaciones nacionales. Tronic, bueno si se lo toman en serio no les va a gustar, pero su fanaticada no dice lo mismo de estos muchachos y su fanaticada es grande, de ejemplo un boton: "TRONIC 4EVER WEYS!!!!

Hace unos días atrás conversaba con uno de los miembros de VAD, y nos preguntábamos, ¿qué nos deja esta década en materia de rock?, ¿que nuevas bandas surgieron en estos primeros diez años del siglo?, ¿que cancienes seguiremos escuchando en diez años más que surgieron en esta fecha?. Las respuestas fueron pocas, quizá los más representativos de la década sean "Mastodon" o "The Answer" con estilos muy diferentes, no lo se, lo sabremos en unos años más. Sin embargo, aunque su primer disco es del '98 QOTSA, nos trae musica nueva, fresca y con algunas dosis de psicodelia propias del estilo "stoner rock" (????), para los que no "cachan", se le denomina a la música compuesta bajo la influencia de marihuana...
Bueno los dejo con este temazo...¿lo segiremos escuchando en el futuro, asi como seguiremos escuchando a Deep Purple o Black Sabbath???...

Shaaman - Carry On (2003) 0:02:00

Que reconfortante es ver como esos grandes clasicos aun suenan como antes, y es que Carry On (Angra - Angels Cry) solo puede sonar perfecta si la interpreta Andre Matos con esa calidad vocal que lo caracteriza (que me perdonen los fanaticos de los actuales Angra), e impecablemente ejecutada por la formacion de Shaaman (aunque si..aun extrañamos a Loureiro en los riffs y solos), la banda actual del Sr. Matos que cada vez gana mas adeptos. Esta interpretacion de Carry On fue extraida desde el dvd en vivo RituAlive del 2003, que demuestra todo el power de Shaaman y nos recuerda que aun tenemos Andre Matos para rato. Enjoy it!!

Dream Theater & Queensryche - Comfortably Numb (2003) 0:10:00

Hoy, especialmente para todos los muchos fanáticos de Pink Floyd, les traigo este cover por Dream Theater y Queensryche, dos ya máximos exponentes del metal progresivo, presentando su homenaje a una banda tan influyente; a mi parecer Jeoff Tate no se encontraba a gusto o algo le pasaba en ese momento, porque su talento no se ve, además James Labrie comete algunos errores, pero vale la pena de todas formas ver a estas dos grandes bandas interpretando a otra excelente banda.
Este video aparece en el material extra del DVD y bootleg oficial de Dream Theater Dark Side Of The Moon, donde se reproduce la presentación en Londres, Inglaterra el 25 de October de 2005, del disco completo de Pink Floyd (una gracia que tienen estos estadounidenses, de tocar discos completos de sorpresa)

Tres intérpretes,tres vesiones muy distintas una de otra, un autor, David Bowie, quien por allá en el año 70 incluye esta canción en el disco "The Man Who Sold the World". Posteriormente Nirvana la sacó del baúl de los recuerdos y la convirtió en un éxito muy sonado en las radios y en la televisión tras haberla versionado el año 1993 en el Mtv Unplugged, pero mucho antes, en 1974 la cantante escocesa Lulu lanza una versión producida por Bowie.

La primera versión por David Bowie en el Live at the Beeb en el año 2000, luego Nirvana en el Mtv Unplugged 1993 y por último Lulu en el Children In Need de la BBC el 2003.

Astral Doors - Cloudbreaker (2003) 10:41:00

Astral Doors es una banda de hard rock/heavy metal sueca; en el año 2002 el guitarrista Joachim Nordlund y el baterista Johan Lindstedt deciden hacer música con el espíritu de sus heroes de los 70, Rainbow, Black Sabbath y Deep Purple, mas tarde se une el vocalista Nils Patrik Johansson aclamado por la crítica por su calidad vocal y similitud con la del legendario Ronnie James Dio.
Este track pertenece a su disco debut del 2003 Of the Son and the Father y ya para septiembre de este año se espera su nuevo trabajo titulado TBA. Recomiendo esta banda para todos aquellos que a veces se aburren un poco del metal melódico que abunda hoy y para cualquiera que disfrute del hard rock un poco mas contemporáneo.
